The drawings that are shown are for a conversion of flats back to single dwelling house with a new extended mansard roof, to a Mews property in Maida Vale, London.

It received planning permission, with conservation area consent.

The project was to design a two storey rear extension and internal alterations to accommodate a living area for the carers for a clients’ son who was severely disabled.   The project included for separate stair access, separate kitchen, rear lounge and bedroom, and an accessible shower / bathroom and open first floor balcony, and new conservatory to the new lounge.

The primary objective of the design was to ensure that the future needs of the clients’ son would be fully catered for, and that the design and the accommodation was there to allow this.  There were some initial issues with the local planning authority regarding the overall size of the proposals.  However, the decision to approve the proposals was unanimously agreed at a planning committee meeting supporting the planning officer’s recommendations for approval.
